Praying To Milk Doesn’t Make Your Wish Come True

Approaching Prayer From A Logical Point of View

Prayer is not without its place. It can be comforting and bring people together for a good cause. But is someone actively answering our prayers? Or is more likely that ‘answered prayers’ are the products of hope and coincidence?

The following video does a good job of explaining this point of view. It is over a year or two old and used to reside on GodIsImaginary.com.

Video Runtime: 8min 45sec, sound required

I realize some theists might respond with something like this: “Asking for $1,000 is a selfish act, one God would not condone.”

It’s a valid point and frankly, a good one. But try changing the subject in the prayer to anything else and GII’s formula still holds up. The statistics in the video above might not hold up, but the logic is sound.

  1. I’m still gonna pray to my milk jug for the sun to come up every morning. Actually, its now more of a cottage cheese jug, but the prayer still works!

    Great video.

  2. I’m going to link to this, I hope you won’t mind. :)
