Psychic Twins: They’re Just Bad People
In my previous article on Linda and Terry Jamison (the “psychic” twins who claim to have predicted the World Trade Center attacks of 9/11) I feel that, while researching whether or not their claim was true, I failed to confront a few other important issues. Let’s revisit this for a moment:
Issue #1: If the twins knew about 9/11, why didn’t they stop it?
Upon learning that someone is actually claiming to have predicted the 9/11 terrorist attacks, one of the first questions that might spring to mind is why they didn’t manage to stop, or at least lessen, the tragedy. On the Dr. Keith Ablow Show, the twins claim that people “ignored” their prediction, although they aren’t terribly specific about what they actually did to warn anyone. Sure, they briefly mention something about attacks on the World Trade Center (minus the date or time) on the radio, and they claim, after the fact, that the information on 9/11 was posted on their website. Is that all? Did they attempt to call the police, the airlines, the people who worked in the twin towers, etc? On their official website the twins take credit for predicting 9/11, but don’t appear to mention any of the measures they took to actually prevent it from happening.
What would you do if you had prior knowledge of a major tragedy? If I, for one, TRULY BELIEVED that I had known the details of the 9/11 terror attacks before they occurred, I would have made every attempt to alert the authorities. Failing that, I think I would have stood outside the towers on the morning of 9/11, begging people not to go inside. And if, in the end, I was unable to prevent the tragedy, I would probably spend the rest of my life horribly shaken by that fact.
Issue 2: If they couldn’t stop it, why aren’t they more upset?
Watch the video again. Are the twins really acting like two sincere, compassionate people who’d had special access to information that could have saved thousands? Granted, at the time they did the Dr. Keith Ablow Show, they’d had about six years to get over 9/11. Still, there are many, many people in this country (maybe a few reading this article) who are still greatly moved by the horrible events of that day. Can you imagine how much worse it would feel if you’d known about the attacks ahead of time and failed to stop them? Would you really behave the way the twins behaved on the Dr. Ablow show in 2007?
Issue 3: How will their claims impact the many, many people who lost loved ones on 9/11?
Now, imagine how you would feel if you lost a spouse, parent, or child in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and you turn on the TV one day to see a pair of psychics light-heartedly claiming that they predicted the tragic events. If you were vulnerable enough to believe their claims, would it not be terribly upsetting to learn that someone COULD have prevented 9/11, and didn’t? If you didn’t believe their claims, wouldn’t it infuriate you to learn that these women are using the events of 9/11 to sell their psychic business?
Either way, haven’t the people who lost loved ones on 9/11 already suffered enough?
Conclusion: However you slice it, these are bad people.
Either Linda and Terry Jamison are psychic, or they aren’t. Either they predicted the terrorist attacks, or they didn’t. If they did predict the attacks, their current attitudes on the subject are unbelievably callous. If they aren’t, in fact, psychic at all, they are exploiting our greatest national tragedy for their own gain, and potentially upsetting thousands of grieving people in the process.
Is there a word for a person lower than scum?
You should follow us on twitter.
I completely agree. I am not impressed by their predictions at all. If they have a gift, they are not using it for good. They talk like everything they have to say has been rehearsed. If I ever had a prediction of a tragedy I would do something about it. They are nothing more than a couple off celebrities looking for more and more money. I will not go so far as to say that I know they are not psychic. What I do know is a gift like that is something that could do a lot of good. It should not be used for personal gain. There are psychics who help police. The twins cannot say that no one will listen to them. I should probably stop rambling. I just do not understand them at all.
I just saw these two on TV. They are reprehensible.
These two performers are widely criticized for a very good reason: they completely fabricate their claims.
Take a close look at their claims. They take a shot-gun approach to prediction. Listen to the complete audio of their “9-11″ prediction and you’ll see quite a contrast with what they claim to have predicted and what they actually said.
Also consider that they used to work in the World Trade Center buildings as performers at a restaurant in the 90s, after the minor terrorist attack on the Trade Center in the early 90s. Everyone who worked in the buildings in the 90s was aware of it, and the expectation of another attack. The government also expected another attack.
Any “psychic” can make 100s of predictions and boast about only those which actually transpire. If they were not fraudulent, they would post every single prediction on their website.
As it is, they probably spend 90% of their waking hours posting anonymous puff pieces and commentary on multitudes of sites throughout cyberspace, trying to build their “brand.” Go ahead and do a search for them and check it out. Pathetic. They probably hire teenagers in third world countries to make flattering comments about them on blogs and sites.
Someone finally called them out: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2011/06/nightline-beyond-belief.html
Most people would love to see authentic psychics show their talents. But when you have two performers pretending to be psychics, they will be attacked, and justifiably so.
The world doesn’t need any more frauds.
Someone should look into the claims they made on “The View” recently.
They said they “Both got the exact same info (on 911) and wrote it down” (as the camera showed handwriting of “Bin Laden.” Now, how come that info wasn’t in the public broadcast of their original prediction, which surprise, surprise, included a bunch of other predictions that didn’t happen?
They also said that “25 million people heard their prediction about 911 on a radio show” before it happened. 25 million? Which radio show is that?
They claim to have predicted “the last 12 (thwarted) terrorist attacks.” Anybody have a record of their predictions? It would be interesting to see.
They claim to have worked for the Pentagon and “Project Foresight.” Anyone have any information on that?
How about the “Cat 4 hurricane” they are predicting for “Florida, Georgia, SC, NC…” this year “A big one, but not as big as Katrina.” If it doesn’t happen, will they post that on their website?
Where can we find all of their past predictions, including those that didn’t come to pass? Anyone?
I’m interested in psychics and will give them a chance to prove themselves, but if it’s a fraud, they deserve what they get.
Also, I’m curious, do shows like “The View” check out their guests claims before they appear on the show? And how do they get on that show, any way?
One of their biggest blunders: That Hillary Clinton would be the 2008 Democratic presiential nominee.
